I’ve asked most of my friends about my worst personality traits. I’ve realised in the past 2 weeks that there are glaring, terrible flaws in my personality that turns people away. Here’s a list of things my friends have told me: Bad self-esteem. (SEVERAL people.) I can’t stand being wrong/losing. (2 people.) I change too much to accomodate others. (4 people.) [Addendum...

Things I hate about my personality:
Lack of conversational skills on the small talk level. Complete inability to handle losing or being wrong. Insatiable ambition that leads to unrealistic goals. Desperate need to be unique. Pitiful craving for attention and respect. Lastly, I hate being called “cute” or “adorable”; I hate being treated like a child or a pet, why can’t people call me...

There's a rubik's cube competition at my school...
As the reigning fastest cuber of Georgia Tech, I’m very motivated to compete again. Also, the prize is 75$ dollars this year (over twice of last year!!), so the exigence is overwhelming. Also, I don’t want to play Starcraft in my current mental and emotional state. I’m tilting hard. Am having very very minor emotional turmoil. X: The cool thing about practicing speedcubing is...

Today was a really really bad day.
I’m not even angry. Usually I’m angry about these things. I’m just really sad.

I've had crazy luck today.
So in synthesis lab, we’re given an IR, HNMR, and a mass spec of an unknown compound, and we’re supposed to spend the next 4 hours trying to identify it. My folder was named ANILINE.  I decided to check three other student’s files and they were all listed as unknowns. THEY ACCIDENTALLY GAVE ME THE ANSWER.  Some people took 3+ hours toiling over lab, but I had the answer!! ...

My cubing skills have really deteriorated, but it’s fun sometimes. The video is just messing around, nothing serious, and pretty slow. It’s a good way to relieve stress and I think it’s fun to do whilst thinking. But I was thinking, and I realised that cubing was such an appropriate hobby for me. It really suits me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE games and activities with ridiculously high...

I'm a pretty reasonable person.
Everything that I want within reasonable bounds, I own it.  There are ridiculous things, but I’m reasonable enough not to want them. There’s nothing that I want that I don’t already have. There are people who exist that want lots and lots of things. I sympathise with them. With “things that can be bought”, you can (usually) save up, work hard, and one day afford...

My streak of really good fortune was broken today.
There’s a shortcut from my house to campus which involves walking 20 meters through the neighbor’s backyard, and then jumping down 1meter onto the other neighbor’s sidewalk. Today, the ground was wet, and I slipped off the edge and ended up hurting my ankle. Motivated by my biochem quiz, I managed to struggle through the pain and forced myself to walk to class. To add insult to...

Fatal familial insomnia is an incurable disease...
Michael Corke, suddenly began to have trouble sleeping not long after his 40th birthday in 1991. Eventually, he couldn’t sleep at all, and he was soon admitted to hospital. Doctors there weren’t sure what was wrong with him, initially diagnosing Multiple Sclerosis; in a bid to send him to sleep in the later stages of the disease, physicians induced a coma with the use of sedatives,...
