So in synthesis lab, we’re given an IR, HNMR, and a mass spec of an unknown compound, and we’re supposed to spend the next 4 hours trying to identify it.
My folder was named ANILINE.
I decided to check three other student’s files and they were all listed as unknowns.
THEY ACCIDENTALLY GAVE ME THE ANSWER.
Some people took 3+ hours toiling over lab, but I had the answer!!
After about 5 minutes of feeling guilty, I thought to myself, it had to be a trap!! This is a trick! This is WAY too easy. o.o
So I read all the data over and over, checked the charts and guides, and seemingly so, IT WAS ANILINE AFTER ALL.
This might not sound like a big deal, but I was out the door in around an hour and a half. That’s ridiculous for lab.
